LS Geomorphologie
Meine geomorphologische Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Hochgebirge der Erde – „zu Hause“ in den Alpen, im nepalesischen Himalaya sowie in den argentinisch/chilenischen Anden.
Sowohl die Analyse und das Monitoring der heutigen Sedimentdynamik als auch die Rekonstruktion der alpinen Landschaftsentwicklung fasziniert mich - insbesondere dahingehend, wie sich ehemals vergletscherte Gebirgslandschaften an nicht-glaziale Bedingungen anpassen. Meine Doktorarbeit konzentrierte sich auf die Quantifizierung der Sedimentspeicherung und die postglaziale Landschaftsrekonstruktion in einem glazial übertiefen inneralpinen Becken (Gradenbach, Hohe Tauern). Ich arbeite mit vielfältigen geowissenschaftlichen Methoden. Diese umfassen die geomorphologische und hydro(geo-)logische Kartierung, terrestrisches Laserscanning, structure-from-motion Photogrammetrie, geophysikalische Prospektion (Geoelektrik, Georadar, Refraktionsseismik), Kernbohrungen, stratigraphische Analysen, GIS und 3D-Modellierung.
